We have experienced a lot of dining during our many trips to WDW. Quick Service, Food Court, Table Service, Character meals, Signature dining, in Theme Parks and at Resorts. And for the most part, overall, we have been very pleased with the food, service and experience. We have had the usual stand-by burgers and fries and ventured out to try new tastes and styles of dining at many of the pavilions around Epcot. But of all our dining adventures at WDW, a few stand out as the very best and least favorites of them all.
For me personally, I would say that the best and favorite would have to be Restaurant Marrakesh. This is located at the very back of the Morocco Pavilion in Epcot. We have never been disappointed with the service, food, or atmosphere. Everything is top notch. We eat there every trip with or without an ADR Advanced Dining Reservation). My favorite thing to get is the vegetable couscous, it is delicious. We have enjoyed lunch and dinner dining and one ADR for the Candlelight Processional dining package. We are never rushed and the servers are so nice and attentive. Once one even signed our daughters character autograph book.
But I would add two others: Whispering Canyon Cafe, it has been a favorite many times, always delicious food and great service. We have enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner there several times. It is not only a great food experience but the service and atmosphere are one-of-a-kind. If you like a nice quiet, fine dining experience then this is probably not the place for you. But if you have kids, of any age, and are fun-loving and willing to go with the flow, then you should make your reservation to dine there. You won't be disappointed.
AND..if you were to ask ANY of our kids it would be Planet Hollywood at Downtown Disney. I mean of ALL the places we have dined while at WDW....THAT is their FAV-FAV. And it has been 3 years since the last time we ate there and they STILL talk about it. Even said it was better that CRT, teens, go figure. For me, it wouldn't be a least favorite, but not a top fav either.
As for the least favorite, that has to be Sci-Fi Dine-In Restaurant at Disney's Hollywood Studio's. We were not impressed at all, maybe just got the wrong things. But really, how can you mess up a burger and fries? (Well...) We have tried it again and still not impressed, with food or service. And I have "seen" some great looking food pictures from there, but our food looked nothing like them. During our dining experiences there the service was slow and the food was bland (and cold on one visit). But I am guessing it is not really the food you are going for but rather the experience. Being able to dine in a "car" while watching old sci-fi movies is pretty cool. But I live in a town that still has a real drive-in movie so, I'll take the real thing thank you. Some of the seating is not in the cars, but at picnic style benches at the back of the dining room. If you would like to sit in a car, which will enhance your experience, then ask the hostess when you check-in or make a request when making your ADR. They are not guaranteed, but it may help. If you really want one badly enough, you can offer to wait till one comes open. But be warned, it may be a long wait. Too long for me for the food you will eat.
