Fun for boys at Walt Disney World

Pin It Now! Disney is not just a place for little princesses. Boys of all ages can have a magical and fun time on a Disney vacation. As a travel profession I often have clients traveling with boys that are concerned a Disney vacation won't have as much to offer for their boys as it does for girls. I understand the concern that boys maybe too old or won't have anything to do or that they feel there may be too much age difference between the children they are traveling with, making it difficult to plan fun activities for everyone to enjoy together. The beauty of a Disney World vacation is that not only will every member of your family be able to enjoy activities and experiences customized to their specific personal wants and needs, but you will have lots to choose from that the whole family can enjoy together.

Some things to consider for boys might be DisneyQuest a 5-story facility located in Downtown Disney that provides cutting-edge technology, virtual reality and 3-D experiences. There are always the thrills to be had on the theme park rides such as Space Mountain, Expedition Everest, Rockin' Rollercoaster and Mission:Space. In addition there are many activities that dad can enjoy with the boys for a fun "guys day" like Sammy Duvall's water sports center (www.sammyduvall.com) this offers several options (some may require parental waivers and/or an adult to accompany a child), including parasailing, water skiing, wake boarding, and tubing or how about a day of surfing lessons at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. My own son and husband had a great 'guys day' doing the surfing experience and the pictures and stories from that day are priceless.

Disney's Hollywood Studio is full of fun things for boys. Star Wars fans will love participating in The Jedi Training Academy and riding Star Tours. And for the adventurous types how about the Lights, Camera, Action stunt show or Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular. They may even have a chance to get in on the action as part of the show. In the Magic Kingdom, pirate adventures abound. Ride The Pirates of the Caribbean or book a visit to The Pirates League for a pirate make over. Then head out for a Pirate Cruise on 7 Seas Lagoon.

For a few lower cost options, visit the petting zoo at Fort Wilderness or head to Downtown Disney for a visit to the Lego Store. For 'fun for the whole family' activities that will be a big hit with the boys in your group, maybe an afternoon of mini-golf at Winter Summerland or Fantasia Gardens. The Family Magic Tour provides a great family option, if you want to do a group activity. This is a fun 'tour' through the Magic Kingdom, while you scavanger hunt for Capt. Hook's hook, with a special surprise at the end. A visit to the other Disney resorts can provide great opportunities for family fun also. At Disney's Boardwalk Resort you could rent a surrey-bike and take a few turns around the boardwalk, this can also be done through quiet trails at Disney's Port Orleans Resort. Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort offers a lot of fun things to do, the night-time camp fire sing-a-longs and movie, wagon or carriage rides, and theres always a delicious dinner and root-n-toot-n great time at the Hoop Dee Doo Review dinner show.

So what do you think?

There are so many options and great adventures to be had on a Walt Disney World vacation. It would be my pleasure to help you plan a special trip for your family and especially for the boys...the sky's the limit!
