Disney Cruise Line Tips

Image
Since my Disney Cruise is coming up soon and as I mentioned in a previous post, I'll be blogging tips regarding cruising with Disney. Today I have a Castaway Cay tip for those traveling with children: Take a small bag of sand toys with you. For your kids to have to play with in the sand on the beach. They do sell sand toys on Castaway Cay, but they are very expensive compared to what you can bring from home. Sometimes it's those little things you don't tend to consider or think of when planning...hope this helps. More tips coming soon so stay tuned! The Dixie Pixie

A little bit of Disney every day...

You know that old saying, "it's the little things that count"? Well for me it's those little Disney things that come along and brighten my day. Today I received a letter in the mail, just an ordinary piece of mail nothing special, except that it brought a little Disney with it. In the form of 2 Disney stamps. Now it's nothing big, probably not even worth writing home about...or blogging about...but it brought a smile to face today and gave me that little Disney glimmer in my eye. And I thought just maybe, a little bit of Disney in this post might do the same for you... (here's a pic of the stamps)...

The Countdown is On!

Yes, that's right...only 20 more days until Mr. Pixie and myself set sail on the Disney Dream for our 20th Anniversary cruise to the Bahamas. I'm so beyond excited I can't even tell you. #1, because it's a Disney Cruise and of course as you know anything Disney is faboo as far as I'm concerned. And #2, because it's our first ever cruise! So along with the Disney excitement there's also the excitement of just not knowing what to expect. Unlike our WDW trips I have no point if reference for the cruise. Which makes the buildup to our cast off day so much more thrilling! We are scheduled to leave on Sept. 12, which is our actual anniversary, and drive down to Port Canaveral with a stay at the Raddison for the night. We have the park & stay package. So that we can leave our car at the hotel and they will shuttle us to the port terminal. On Sept. 13 we will head to the terminal to get checked in and board the ship. Our cruise is 3 nights with a day in Nass...

It's back to school time...with a little Disney Magic

It's that time of year again, kids are heading back to school. Last night I went to a local elementary school to visit my best friends daughter who is a first year teacher at her Open House. She is one of my "Disney Babies", the oldest one between my best friends 3 and my 2. We have been on many WDW trips together through the years, and I am proud to say I have Disney-fied each of them. I'm so proud of Kayla, Ms. Moran that is. She graduated from college at the top of her class and is going to be a wonderful teacher! Her room was so cute. Decorated with little owls everywhere and bright colored walls she had just painted. And there was even a little bit of Disney in her room. A pointer in the shape of a Mickey Mouse white gloved hand. I was extra proud! Here's wishing all the students, teachers and parents a Magical school year! <3 class="separator" data-blogger-escaped-div="div" data-blogger-escaped-dixie="dixie" data-blogge...

Don't dress like a tourist...even if you are one.

So this is the first "DDLAT" post. Aren't you excited??!!?? Today was a work day, so I'm gonna share what I chose today with ya. I got a cute maxi dress last night at Old Navy. It was on clearance so I grabbed it up for my upcoming cruise. *side note #1- ok for those of you who don't know, I'm a bit...frugal with a dollar. OK let's just say it, I'M CHEAP! That said, I like to get as good a quality as I can at the best price. I always hit the clearance section of a store first and consignment and thrift stores are my faces. *side note #2- I will be going on my first ever cruise, a Disney Cruise, to the Bahamas in Sept (23 days to be exact), so most posts from now on will probably have something to do with the cruise in some way. (I'm a little excited)! Ok so, the maxi dress is black and a creamy white striped, and I added a white tank under it since it is a tube top style and also threw a black cardigan over it just because my office is freezi...
